After looking at lots of different beauty boxes available out there, I decided to subscribe to Glossybox as soon as I started my blog.
What is Glossybox?
For £10 a month (plus £2.95 p+p) you will receive a little present straight to your door, wrapped delightfully and full of deluxe-sized, luxury samples!
What’s the point?
Well, firstly, the most annoying thing about spending lots of pennies on a product, is taking it home, using it for a week and deciding it’s rubbish! Waste.Of.Money. With Glossybox you get to be the first to try before you buy, hot on the market beauty products, ranging from skin care to makeup and fragrances!
Will the products be right for me?
That is the great thing about Glossybox. They personalise the box according to your needs! Once you’ve subscribed you create your bespoke beauty profile, including skin type and personal preferences…the Glossybox team then use this to create your own, little box! Voila!
What more could you want, designer samples in a cute box at a fraction of the price!
I was SO excited to unwrap the perfectly-tied pink ribbon…and inside did not disappoint! A delightful, detox-themed box perfect for this time of year! It even came with a leaflet, including top-tips and more info about the products and how to use them! How Sweet!
JASON – LIPS BEE HEALTHIER – LIP BALM
A brand i’ve not heard of but i’ll definitely be telling my friends about! There is a reason I put this top of list…it is my favourite product in the box, and full-size too!! In the harsh Winter months we have to do everything we can to stop our lips looking chapped and not very kissable and this lip balm delivers everything! Crammed with moisture-trapping ingredients such as Beeswax, Vitamin E and Green Tea Extract, along with Aloe Vera to soothe and Sweet Almond Oil to soften, your lips are in for a real, tasty treat! Yummy!
PREMAE SKINCARE – BALANCE RESCUE FACE TONIQUE
I’ll admit, I always think toners are a bit of a waste of time. They just seem, to me, an un-neccassary part of my skin care regime! That was until now! This toner really changed my mind, I was actually shocked at what my skin looked and felt like after application! With antiseptic lemongrass and hydrating rose-water, this alcohol-free, fragrance-free solution claims to ‘mattify and rejuvenate congested skin’. I am happy to say it does this and more! My skin felt like silk and looked pretty damn good too for a make-up free face!
MONU – AROMATIC MASK
Another product I should use more often… a face mask! Again, I have been proved wrong, in thinking that slapping a load of gunk on your face will result in a 10-minute miracle! OK, so no ‘miracles’ happened here (with it being labelled a ‘thermal’ face mask I was expecting a lovely, warm sensation, but it stayed cold!) I left it on for 15 minutes, wiped if off with cotton-wool and was left with physically brighter looking skin! A natural clay, crammed with beeswax and coconut oil, helping to increase vitamin and mineral absorption! Maybe I need to try it a few more times!
DUCK ISLAND – BODY LOTION
Ahhh how I love a good body lotion…and such cute packaging too! Infused with an exotic, zesty-combination of Mandarin and Bergamot, this lotion leaves you smelling divine whilst feeling more relaxed! I can never seem to find decent body lotions, so will definitely be looking more in to the Duck Island! However, with it being a Hotel toiletry range it seems pretty difficult to buy individually, I hope this changes as this is a Duck Island delight! Just pure bliss!
ELEMIS – SKIN GLOW FACIAL EXFOLIATOR
I only really exfoliate before self-tanning and tend to use a budget brand, so I was intrigued to try a high-end exfoliator by Elemis. Unfortunately, I think i’ll stick to the high street! It claims to have a ‘deep pore cleansing action while gently polishing away dead skin cells.’ Deep Pore cleaning – YES Gentle? NO WAY! Even thinking about it makes me flinch, not to mention my bright red skin after-use! I have really sensitive skin to the exfoliating beads in this may have just been a little harsh for my poor pores to deal with! Ouch!
The nice people at Glossybox even threw in a cute, sleep-mask…which resulted in me sleeping right through until 10:30am this morning! Lazy but just lovely! Thanks Glossybox!
Have you subscribed to any beauty boxes? What is your opinion on them?
I know I just love mine and i’m already super-excited for my next one! Please hurry up!
